With over 25 years of experience, Michael J. Moffett is licensed to practice in the states of Georgia and New Mexico. Mr. Moffett practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, corporate and business law, telecommunications litigation, insurance law, employment law, real estate and probate litigation. His commercial law practice focuses on the areas of contracts, business torts, partnership and shareholder disputes, class actions, and construction disputes. Mike is a member of the Oliver Seth American Inns of Court, participating in timely presentations of new legal developments in various areas of law.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Mike majored in journalism at the University of Georgia, from which he graduated magna cum laude. He attended Pepperdine School of Law, where he was awarded the Barristers Advocacy Award (1994) and was the winner of both the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Award (1994) and the New York National Moot Court Regional Tournament (1993). He also placed third in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition (1993) and second in the Negotiation & Settlement Tournament (1994).
The early years of Mike’s practice took place in Georgia, where he focused on commercial litigation, labor and employment law, business and corporate matters most recently with a top firm in downtown Atlanta. Moving to Santa Fe, NM in late 2000, Mike added environmental and natural resource law to his experience, participating in the successful defense of an action against a plaintiff seeking a 10-figure judgment. Over the last few years, other matters include successful insurance coverage defense, construction litigation, Telecommunications Act litigation, real estate and probate litigation and small business representation.
